Trio Bistro - Roanoke, VA

This review is LONG overdue! A word to the wise, never wait over a MONTH to write a review for an excellent restaurant! You’ll certainly miss something, as I know I’m about to. This visit was on a Monday, April 28th, 2008, around 6PM(ish).

I enjoyed a Cajun dish of salmon that was absolutely wonderful and huge!! Unfortunately, I do not recall the prices, but the total bill was right at $100 when all said and done (Note: We had two glasses of wine each). For my wine, I had a glass of Pinot Gris. Again, I do not recall the price nor the winery, but I digress. The appetizer was a stuffed scallop of sorts and it surpassed every expectation! Cara had a blackened chicken dish which was equally as huge as my dish. I’d say that each dish was at least two servings. She also enjoyed the same Pinto Gris.

We had a wonderful time there and especially enjoyed the non-smoking environment. Roanoke should venture to have more of these around. The audience is there, you just have to tap it. But Trio was one of my best experiences ever for eating out. I must admit, I’ve been there before just for a bit of wine with a friend and it was just as enjoyable, however, you’re doing yourself an injustice to visit Trio and not sample their well prepared and unique Cajun dishes.
