Food Lion is great!

My Kroger hasn’t lived up to my expectations over the years; tainted by significantly higher prices than Walmart and somewhat higher prices on a lot of other goods that can be had at places like Food Lion, I have decided to change the routine for a bit - maybe longer.

Not everything is higher, of course.  The V8-Splash at Kroger was 2.79, but with my Kroger card, was .99 off, while Food line was 2.99 and off .99.  I realize this wasn’t much, but twenty cents is twenty cents.  Over the long haul, this can add up to quite a savings if managed well.I can easily spend as much at Food Lion as I would Kroger.  I have got to admit, though, I think Kroger’s overall selection if far superior to anywhere else I’ve shopped. The biggy with me is the shopping experience.

Food Lion isn’t as busy, but that could be a bad sign.  They also don’t stay open 24 hours; my Kroger does.  This is the Food Lion on Hollins, btw.  The prices aren’t too much different, but I like how I can take my time and I’m not always blocked off by someone planting their cart in the center of the isle while they fetch what they want.  That is not as much a reflection on the store and the clientele the store draws.Food Lion is a breath of fresh air for shopping and if you haven’t been there before or in a long time, I recommend you give it a try (again).
