Daleville’s Mill Mountain Coffee
12. February 2008 by Matt.
A great cup of coffee or specialty coffee product is sometimes difficult to find. Sometimes the best coffee flavor is found in not necessarily uncommon places, but maybe unexpected places. I’m a 2 or so cup of coffee a day kind of guy and really love everything about coffee.
Mill Mountain Coffee located in Daleville, Virginia makes a pretty mean breve. I don’t like sweeteners, but I do ask for it with vanilla flavoring to soften the edge just a tad. I consider coffee items, such as a breve, to be more of a desert than straight coffee. Though, I do add half and half to my regular coffee to, again, take off the edge.
One of the employees there once told me they use 2 whole shots of espresso and that’s the reason for the full richness that I can’t seem to get enough of. The only problem is that coffee shops are notorious for being expensive for signature or specialty drinks, so I don’t go there quite as often when the cash flow is sub-par.
There is also a Mill Mountain Coffee in downtown Roanoke, VA, which is closer to where I live, but not work. They are equally as good - a true exemplification of superb ownership and management. And to think that I used to believe only McDonalds could be consistent from location to location. (That’s what they boast anyway.)
Bottom-line is: I highly recommend Mill Mountain Coffee in Daleville and Roanoke for both atmosphere and for excellent coffee. BTW, the service is equally as great! Kudos to whoever owns and operates those locations!
